My two year old and I went strawberry picking over the weekend. We had so many strawberries and I knew I had to do something with them. I came across this recipe and I thought it was perfect, and it was. My little girl loved helping me make this Jell-O pie and loved eating it more. This is a great dessert to bring to that summer BBQ or any other summer party. It’s also a lot lighter and healthier than other desserts, which is great for summer. Follow this step-by-step recipe to make your very own Jell-O pie.
Ingredients: 1 packet of strawberry Jell-O, two pints of strawberries (washed and cut into halves), 1 1/2 cups flour, 1 tablespoon powered sugar, 1/2 cup vegetable oil, 2 tablespoon milk, 1/2 teaspoon salt, pie pan
To make the pie crust
Step 1: combined the flour, powered sugar, oil, milk and salt in a bowl. Hand mix until all the ingredients are blended together.
Step 2: Press the pie crust mixture into a pie pan. Bake in the oven at 325 for 15-20 minutes or until the edges of the crust are a light brown.
Step 3: While your pie crust is cooling, make the Jell-O according to the package.
Step 4: Place you washed, dried and sliced strawberries into the pie crust.
Step 5: Place pie pan on a plate (to catch any of the spilled Jell-O) Pour Jell-O mixture over the strawberries. Let the Jell-O set for about 4-6 hours. Serve with whipped cream. Delicious!
