Where do Santa’s Elves Live?

The elves live in the North Pole with Santa and Mrs. Claus. The North Pole is the northernmost part of Earth.  It is located in the Arctic Ocean.  The North Pole is not part of any country, it sits in international waters and belongs to everyone.

What do Elves Homes Look Like?

The elves live in tiny, colorful cottages throughout the North Pole. They look like colorful gingerbread houses.

Elves decorate their houses with Christmas lights all year round.  They also decorate their homes with candies such as candy canes, lollipops, gumdrops, licorice, and chocolate candies.

The elves love to have brightly decorated houses throughout the year.  They have decorating contests to see whose house is the brightest and most cheerful.

These contests are very important to the elves, and take them seriously.  When an elf wins a decorating contest, they get a special treat from Santa and Mrs. Claus.  The treat is always a surprise and always special.

Most of the jobs are for the elves.  Many of them work in Santa’s workshop making toys. Elves make toys throughout the entire year, not just during Christmas.  Making toys keeps the elves busy throughout the year.

Some take care of Santa’s Reindeer, and others bake cookies and make candies. There are schools for elf children, so some elves are teachers. Teachers teach elves how to read and write; they teach them about history, science, and technology.  There are also classes on wrapping presents and bow-making. Elf children get homework every night and also have to take tests.

One of the biggest jobs at the North Pole is working in the mail department.  The elves go through all of Santa’s letters from children and make sure that Santa reads each and every one

On Christmas Eve Santa’s elves also help prepare Santa’s sleigh for his long journey ahead.  Some elves are chosen to ride with Santa and help deliver presents.
