Leprechaun House St. Patrick’s Day Snack Activity for Kids

This leprechaun house makes an excellent activity for kids at a daycare, St. Patrick’s Day party, classroom, or weekend activity. This leprechaun house is easy and fun to make. The one below was made entirely by a child aged 8. Follow the step-by-step directions below to make your own leprechaun house.

Materials

Five medium size cookies of any type. The cookies they sell in the grocery store bakery are a perfect size. You want to ensure they are big enough to hold the waffle cone bowl on top.

waffle cone bowl,

vanilla frosting,

green food coloring,

Lucky Charms cereal,

green sprinkles

Step 1:

The first thing you do is add 2-3 large spoonfuls of frosting to a small bowl. If you are doing this with a bunch of kids, you can give each child their own bowl or put a bowl in the middle of the table for them to share.

Once the frosting is in the bowl, add 5-8 drops of green food coloring to get the color green that you like.

Step 2

Stack 7 cookies on top of each other. The cookies will be the leprechaun’s house. You can add a little frosting between each cookie to make them stay together easier. Use the green frosting to frost the entire stack of cookies.

Step 3

Put the waffle cone bowl on top of the stack of cookies. The waffle cone bowl will be the roof of the leprechaun house. Put green frosting over the entire waffle cone.

Step 4

Decorating is the fun part. Decorate your leprechaun house with Lucky Charms and green sprinkles. Be creative and add your special touches. Have fun!
