Christmas Cream Cheese Cookies

These cookies are my favorite because they are versatile, use little ingredients and taste great.

Ingredients: 3 oz cream cheese, 1 cup butter, 1 egg yolk, 1 cup sugar, 1 teaspoon vanilla, 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour; optional food coloring and sprinkles

Pre-heat oven for 325

Step 1: In a large bowl cream the butter, sugar and cream cheese

Step 2: Add egg yolk and vanilla

Step 3: Add flour a little at a time and mix until well blended

Step 4: Knead dough into a ball

Step 5: Optional: You can separate dough and add a couple drops of food coloring to get colorful Christmas Cookies

Step 6: Roll out dough and use cookie cutters to make shapes, add dough to a cookie press, or drop spoonfuls of dough on cookie sheet.  Use un-greased cookie sheet.  Add sugar sprinkles before baking.

Bake for 10-15 minutes.  Cookies will remain light in color.  They will be a little darker on the bottom.
