I was really depressed about my weight and after struggling with it my entire life, I found something that really worked. I’m not getting paid to write about these companies, but I want to share my story because I may be able to help someone else. Losing weight is hard, and losing weight after having kids can be more challenging. I was always chunky growing up. I always wanted to be thinner, I felt like my friends could eat junk food and pizza and not gain weight, and I couldn’t. I felt life wasn’t fair. In my early 20s, I decided to do something about it. I knew that there is no pill, no magic that would make me lose weight. I needed to exercise and eat right. That is the only way. I had to change my lifestyle.   So, I cut down on my carbs, walked 3 miles 5 days a week, drank only water and stopped eating after 7PM. I stuck to it, and the weight started coming off. I was able to lose close to 30 pounds in 3 months and kept the weight off.

I started going to the gym regularly. I didn’t lose more weight but it helped me maintain my weight and I got toner. In my early 30’s, I got pregnant with my first child. I gained 27 pounds, which was within the recommended amount. I lost 18 pounds in my first couple of weeks of having her. I had her in the winter, it was cold and snowed a lot.   I mostly stayed on the couch watching t.v, sleeping when she slept, and trying to figure out how to be a mom. While on maternity leave, I gained 15 pounds. I was unhappy. I couldn’t go to the gym anymore because my gym did not have child care and I couldn’t afford the fancy gym. One night while I was up doing a late-night feeding, I saw the infomercial for the MaxiClimber. It was very intriguing. It was a skinny machine that didn’t take up much room and it was a very reasonable price. I decided to give it a try, and it changed my life.

It’s tall and skinny. I was living in a small space. The Maxi Climber was a perfect fit for me as, when I was not using it, I could fit it in a tall closet or a corner of the room.

Easy to put together.

When I ordered my Maxi Climber, I was afraid I wouldn’t be able to put it together. I was pleasantly surprised when I received it that it took about 10 minutes. It is very lightweight and easy to move.


At under $200, you cannot find a better home full-body workout machine.


As a new parent, you have little to hardly any time to work out, especially if you are a working mom like me. In the beginning, they recommend 10 mins. In that 10 minutes, I burned 225 calories. When I used the elliptical, I would burn about 100 calories every 10 minutes. I was burning more than twice that with the MaxiClimber.

Overall Workout

This simple machine gives you some workout. When I got it I said 10 minutes would be easy. I can do this for 10 minutes. Well, I could, but it was not easy. If you don’t move the machine, it doesn’t move, for that reason I believe you get the best workout. I was sweating and out of breath, but I did it. Happily, I can say that I started at 10 minutes and have slowly built myself up to using it for 25-30 minutes 4 days a week. I burn anywhere from 400-600 calories in that short of time. That’s another reason why I love this machine. You can move at your own pace because you control the movement. It was made to move your body the same way you would while rock climbing. You will notice that your butt, thighs, abs, and arms will get toner. If you stick to it, you will see results and you will feel good too. It has an adjustable height and has a weight limit of 240 pounds. Using this machine, I dropped the baby weight. I highly recommend the MaxiClimber.

I was so happy with the MaxiClimber but wanted to add something else to my workout. This is when I came across the Slendertone Abdominal Muscle Toner Belt. Again, I was this on an infomercial. It claims that it’s the only FDA-cleared ab belt for toning, strengthening, and firming abdominal muscles. It also said that you can see results in a couple weeks. 

I lost weight but I never had a flat stomach. One can dream, right? So, I decided why not give it a try. Now, honestly, I didn’t think this ab belt would work. Who would think that you can put a belt on and it would tone your muscles, I never did, But, I must tell you, it really does work. Now, if you have rolls, it won’t make your stomach flat, because it doesn’t burn fat, however, you will start to see more toned abs. While using that belt, you will feel your ab muscles tightening.   I used it for about 6 weeks before I really saw results. I started to see ab lines down the sides of my stomach, something that I never saw before. I was so excited. In my 30’s and 10 months after having a child, my stomach looked the best it has ever looked. They also have an arm belt, I haven’t tried that yet, but I might.


You receive a belt that covers your core, 3 gel pads, a controller, and a charger. The controller has 10 toning programs that have 150 adjustable intensity levels. You simply place the gel pads on the belt, wrap the belt around your core and use one of the programs at the highest intensity level that you’re comfortable with. It is recommended that you wear it for 30 minutes 5 days a week. I did it longer than that, but you do what is comfortable for you. You do need to replace the gel pads monthly. I was doing great. I had my MaxiClimber and my Slendertone Ab Belt and I was in the best shape of my life at 34. Then one day while watching Shark Tank, I saw the Simply Fit Board. It was designed to tone your legs and core and trim your waist while twisting on a board. It looked fun and easy, so I decided to purchase one. I must say, I love it. You just stand on the board, slightly bend your knees and twist using your waist. If you find yourself twisting in a circle, stop, balance yourself and try again. It may take some getting used to. I do mine 20 minutes daily. Sometimes I have to break my time up because of the kids. So, if I can’t do the full 20 minutes at one time, I will do 10 in the morning and 10 at night.   The board comes with a workout video (I didn’t use the video) for additional workout ideas. You can also hold weights to increase difficulty.

So recently I just had baby number 2. I now have to start my routine over again, but instead of looking at it as a long road ahead, I’m excited to feel good about my body. Here is my current routine MaxiClimber 4 days a week, Slendertone Ad Belt 5 days daily (except during my period and you have to wait at least 8 weeks after having a baby or until your doctor says you can go back to full activity), and the Simply Fit Board 20 minutes 7 days a week. I also only eat between the hours of 10 AM-6 PM and only drink water. Cutting out sugary drinks and alcohol alone will help.
