School Spirit Weeks! Awesome for kids and stressful for parents. Sometimes it’s running to the store to pick up a Hawaiian-themed outfit or find a suitable pair of pajamas to send your kids to school. But, parents, we got this! We have to do a little extra planning, but nothing we can’t handle. Schools, camps, and preschools are getting very creative with their school spirit weeks. The one day that gets me every time is crazy hair day. I’m always looking for an easy crazy hair day style. It’s not that easy. My daughter has very thick, very curly hair. Finding something easy to do to her hair has been a struggle until this year.

I came up with this effortless crazy hair day style on accident. I was winging it this year and created something cute and easy. This crazy hair day style can be done with curly or straight hair, medium-length or long hair. It only uses a few hair accessories that most people already own.
Materials:
- 3 hair rubber bands
- 8 scrunchies
- 5 bobby pins
- hair brush
- comb
- hair gel
Step 1
The first thing you are going to do is put your child’s hair into high pigtails. I used a comb to make a part down the middle of her hair, then used a hair brush to brush her hair up on each side and wrapped it with a hair tie. I used some hair gel to keep it in place.
Step 2
Once the hair was put into pigtails, I wrapped her hair with 4 scrunchies on each side. See the image below. Honestly, you can stop right there, I think this passes for a crazy hair day. If you are feeling adventurous move on to step 3.

Step 3
This is step is easy, but creates a really cool, crazy hair effect. Simply cross the right pigtail over to the left side and the left pigtail over to the right side. See the image below.

Step 4
This is the final step. The next thing you are going to do is pull the ends of each pigtail together in the back of the hair and secure it with a rubber band and a bow. See the image below:

I did add in some bobby pins, just to keep everything in place. I have a very active 8-year-old. My daughter initially wanted her hair to look like a puppy, we saw a cute style on Pinterest, however, we did not have the materials. I just decided to make something up. She ended up loving it. When she came home from school she said that some of the teachers took pictures with her and asked how her mom had time to do her hair like that. It honestly took me 10 mins.
