Band Aids

Materials: Graham crackers, white frosting, red food gel (in baking aisle), band-aid box

Step 1: Carefully break the graham crackers along the lines to get thin pieces.

Step 2: Put a little bit of frosting in the center.

Step 3: Add a dot of red food gel in the center so it looks like blood, eww

Step 4:  Place them on a platter with a band-aid box in the center.

Boogers on a Stick

The kids love this one!

Materials: Pretzel sticks, Cheeze Wiz, green food coloring, parchment or wax paper

Step 1:  Heat up the Cheeze Whiz according to the label.

Step 2:  Add a couple of drops of green food coloring to the Cheeze Wiz.  Mix them together until you get the green color that you like

Step 3: Dip the pretzels into the green cheese and allow to dry on parchment or wax paper.

Step 4: Place on a tray, serve.

Ghostly Brownies

Materials: Brownie mix, large marshmallows, red food gel, white frosting, cupcake tin, wax or parchment paper

Step 1: Make the brownies according to the box.

Step 2:  Fill cupcake tins halfway with brownie mix, bake for about 15 minutes on 375.  They are done when you can stick a toothpick into the brownie and it comes out clean.  Let brownies cool.

Step 3: While the brownies are baking, draw a face on each marshmallow using red food gel.

Step 4: Heat up some white frosting in the microwave until it is a little melted.  You do not want it to melt too much.  Just enough where you can pour it over the brownies.

Step 5: When the brownies have cooled down, place them on parchment or wax paper.

Step 6:  Pour some frosting over the brownies and stick a marshmallow on top.  As the frosting cools it will harden and the marshmallow will stick.

Mummy Mini Hot Dogs

Materials: Cocktail hot dogs, Pillsbury Crescent Rolls, black food gel, pizza cutter

Step 1: Unroll the Pillsbury Crescent Rolls and cut them into skinny strips using a pizza cutter.

Step 2: Wrap strips around the top of the cocktail hot dogs.  Leave a space to make a face, then continue to wrap strips around until it looks like a mummy.

Step 3: Bake until dough is a light brown.

Step 4: Using the black food gel,  draw a face on you cocktail hot dogs.

Gruesome Finger Cookies 

Materials: Finger cookie tray, green food coloring, raspberry jelly, shaved almonds, sugar cookie or cream cheese cookie dough


I used the cream cheese cookie recipe and they came out great! 2 1/4 cups flour, 3oz cream cheese, 1 tsp spoon vanilla, 1 egg yolk, 1 cup of sugar, 1 cup butter.  Cream the sugar, butter and cream cheese.  Next add vanilla and egg yolk, then add the flour

Step 1: Add a couple of drops of green food coloring to get the color you like.  I only a little a little so the fingers looked a little dirty.

Step 2: Sprinkle some flour into the cookie try and bake.  Check repeatedly until cookies look golden brown.

Step 3: When the cookies a completely cool, put a little jelly at the trip of the finger and place a shaved almond on top.

Cute Baby/Toddler Candy Corn Halloween Keepsake, How to Make a Footprint Candy Corn Craft

I just did this craft with my 20 month old daughter Janelle. The moment I finished it, I knew that it would be forever part of my Halloween decor.  I absolutely love this.  I think it would be a great mommy and me or daddy and me project.  I also this would be a great craft to do in a day care or pre-school.  I would just swap the canvas for a black piece of paper.  Follow the step-by-step directions below to create your own candy corn footprint craft.

Materials: black canvas, acrylic paint (white, orange and yellow), paint brush and scrapbook letter stickers  or a paint pen

I got all my materials at Michael’s craft store optional baby wipe

Step 1: Paint the heel of your child’s foot white. the middle orange and the top and toes yellow. I used three paint brushes so I could quickly dip each one in the paint to paint her foot.

Step 2: Press your child’s foot (toes up) onto the top part of the canvas. For quick clean up, wipe your child’s foot with a baby wipe.

Step 3: Repeat step one and two with the other foot.

Step 4: Turn canvas around so the feet are at the bottom and the heals of the foot are facing up.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Step 5: Using the scrapbook letter stickers or paint pen write Trick or Treat Smell My Feet!

You’re all done! Enjoy for years to come.

How to Make a Pumpkin Out of a Water Bottle, Water Bottle Halloween Crafts, Water Bottle Pumpkin Craft for Kids

Water Bottle Pumpkin Craft

This water bottle pumpkin craft is not only a fun craft to do with young children for Halloween or Thanksgiving it’s also a great craft to teach about recycling.  Not only is a cute piece of kid art to display but it also uses an old water bottle so we have less trash.  Follow the steps below to make your own pumpkin out of a water bottle.

Materials: Water bottle ( I used the small 8oz water bottle), black and orange construction paper, green paint, glue and paintbrush

 

 

 

 

 

Step 1: Give child a water bottle and a piece of orange construction paper.  Tell them to rip up the construction paper into small pieces.

 

 

 

 

Step 2:  Tell each child to put their ripped up pieces of construction paper into their water bottle.

Step 3: After filling their water bottle up with the paper have the children put the bottle cap back. on.  Have each child paint their top green.
Step 4: Have the children cut out eyes, nose and mouth from the black construction paper.  If the children are young you may want to do this for them.

Step 5:  Glues eyes, nose and mouth on the bottle and let dry completely.  You’re Done! enjoy your pumpkin.

Baby’s First Halloween Craft, My Baby’s First Halloween Keepsake, How to Make a Halloween Baby Craft

So it’s your babies first Halloween and you want to remember it in a special way, try these two crafts below.  I ejoyed making them with my baby girl.  Now I will always have something to remember her first Halloween.

*When your finished put your craft in a frame.  Save them, Take them out  every Halloween to enjoy them for years to come.

Footprint Ghost

Materials: Black construction paper (cut paper in half for little feet), marker, white non-toxic washable paint, paint brush, optional googly eyes
Step 1: Paint the bottom of your baby’s foot with a light coating of paint.  Too much paint with make it messy and take a long time to dry.  Stamp your baby’s foot on the black construction paper.

Step 2: Let dry,  When footprint is dry use a marker to draw mouth and eyes (the heel of the foot is the head of the ghost).  If you want instead of drawing eyes with a marker use googly eyes (found at any craft store).

Bat Handprint Craft

Materials: construction paper, black non-toxic washable paint, marker or optional glue, googly eyes, pom-pom ball and glitter
Step 1:  Paint one of your baby’s hands with a light coating of black non-toxic washable paint.  Holding the paper long ways stamp your baby’s hand on the paper.
Step 2: Paint your baby’s other hand turn the paper upside down so the previous handprint is on the bottom of the page. Stamp your baby’s hand on the paper to it is touching the palm of the first hand print.

Step 3:  Let dry.  When the handprints are dry use a maker to draw eyes, nose or mouth.  Feeling crafty? Instead of marker use googly eyes for eyes, pom pom ball for the nose and draw a mouth  with glue and add a little glitter
